Your body is meant to be healthy. It knows the ideal health conditions it should be in, and is always striving to stay in good working condition. When we say that health is in your nature, we mean it, literally.

Our bodies have evolved over time and have become perfect machines. Machines, with a hidden and unfortunately forgotten function: self-healing. When we say “health is in your nature,” we mean it, literally.

Your body is meant to be healthy. Your body knows about the ideal health conditions it should be in, and it is always striving to stay in good working condition. The body, at any given time, knows if and where there is a problem: a low in energy, a virus attack, a bacterial threat, an inflammation, prolonged stress, tissue damages, illness, and disease.

It is constantly sending us messages and notifications whenever anything is off-balance: hunger, fevers, headaches, sense of nausea, vomit, pain – just to name a few. The body is telling us that something is just not right, and we should do something about it.

By the time these warning messages are out, the body has already started working on a solution to the problem: attacking and possibly killing viruses and bacteria, putting extra energy to digest some heavy or unhealthy food, organizing internal resources to isolate and expel some toxic materials from the body.

Stopping the body from working properly

Still, we do get sick. We are in poor health condition with all of our diseases. Why is that? Simply because, despite the body’s best efforts, with our actions and lifestyle and poor food choices, we are doing whatever we can to stop the body from working properly.

Despite the body’s best efforts, we are still adding heavy burdens to it every day. We do not sleep enough. We eat bad food. We do not drink enough water. We live sedentary lives and do not exercise. We are constantly under mental and emotional stress, always adding pressure to our body and mind.

The body suffers and, at a certain point, it stops functioning right. That is when we fall sick. That is when disease kicks in.

Treat your body right

Here is where awareness comes in. Awareness of how our body works, awareness of how smart nutrition and smart lifestyle can boost our energy level and body functions. And what is “smart”? To put it simply, whatever does not interfere with the natural body functioning, and whatever allows the body to work in its natural way, is smart.

The thing is, the body will never give up. It will always try its best to go for healing, to go for health. And even when it looks like it has given up and such issues arise as heart problems, diabetes, obesity, and high cholesterol and blood pressure, the body is actually there, dormant but always ready to get better, with your help.

How do you help your body? By treating it right. Giving it the water it needs, giving it the good and nutritious food it needs, giving it the exercise it needs, giving it the rest it needs.

Be realistic and accept the process

Once you have learned how to treat your body right, and you will with the help of Naturally Dietstyle, you will see that your body will start working magic for you. And for each one unit of good effort you put into your body, the body will give you back three units of health.

Falling sick is like climbing a mountain. It takes time and effort. You do not develop such conditions as high blood pressure or high cholesterol overnight. You do not become overweight or obese, overnight. You do not develop diabetes overnight. These are only the inevitable results of our prolonged actions – damaging actions in this case: bad eating habits, bad drinking habits, irregular and insufficient sleeping patterns. Everything, in the long term, has resulted in today’s poor health for us.

Getting well and healthy again is like climbing down the mountain. If you were climbing for six hours to reach the summit, you could not expect to leave the summit and be down in one hour. In the same way, if it took you 10 years to get to today’s poor health, you cannot expect to be back in optimal physical condition in one day. We need to be realistic, and accept the process. Climbing up, reached the summit, climbing down again.

Your body knows when you treat it right

The healthy healing process is a natural process which, theoretically, requires the same time to go from disease to health, as it took us to go from health to disease in the first place.

But here’s the trick — when you do things right, and the body knows it, the body will accelerate the healing process for you, to obtain the maximum results in the shortest possible time. Exponentially, just like climbing a mountain all the way up, and coming down with the help of a parachute, safe and fast.

The body is so eager to go back to its original and healthy natural condition that you will know immediately when you are doing things right for your body, because the body will immediately respond positively.

So again, in Naturally Dietstyle, we want to show you how to be good to your body, so that it can work wonders for you and work properly in its full range of functions, allowing you to enjoy health, until the very last day of your life.

Dying for the wrong reasons

Before we proceed with new theories and new teachings, we believe it is important to fix some concepts here. People die all the time. It is natural. What is not natural, is that we are literally dying for the wrong reasons. People die of diseases that can be prevented and avoided.

Cardiovascular Diseases are the #1 killers of all times. Those are mainly related to our diets. Cancers are the #2 killers of all times. And once again modern nutrition tells us that food acts as a “switch” for cancer cells (to use the words of Dr. Campbell, in his book “The China Study”), and that we are more prone to cancer when our diet is not under control.

In the second table, we can see the number of deaths by “risk factor.” These too are statistics from the year 2017. Ofthese numbers, we  will not deal with “drugs” or “smoking” or the like because, despite being very serious topics that need to be addressed in society, still they are not the focus of nutrition. Instead, we can see that in this hit parade we have many things that are related to nutrition:

  • High blood pressure (10 million)
  • High blood sugar (6.5 million)
  • Obesity (4.7 million)
  • Alcohol (2.8 million)
  • Diet low in fruits (2.4 million)
  • Diet low in vegetables (1.4 million)

Death factors can be avoided through diet and lifetyle choices

Of the 15 most common death factors in the world, nine are related to poor nutrition; and three are related to our lifestyle, namely lack of exercise, smoking and abuse of alcoholic drinks, for a total of approximately 28 million people dead in 2017 alone.

These numbers keep increasing, in line with our modern lifestyle and, specifically for nutrition, in line with our not-so-wise food choices. Check if you can find out the same statistics for the years 2018, 2019 and 2020. They will speak for themselves.

Ruha founded the movement “Nutrivolution” and is the author of Naturally Dietstyle.

The #1 reason why any weight-loss program fails is that it is a “Weight-Loss-Program.” The moment we tell our brain to focus exclusively on the three words “Weight-Loss-Program” or “Weight-Loss-Diet,” we have already lost the battle.

Breeding Nigerian dwarf goats for all the wrong reasons

From what I observed through their writing, bloggers who express views about Nigerian dwarf goats believe the animals have no inherent worth of their own and, instead, are birthed into being for the express purpose of serving the whims of humans.

Nigerian dwarf goats – they are gentle, lovable, and exploited

We seem to be hell-bent on negating the obvious: namely, that animals are capable of a range of emotions, that they feel joy and sadness, have unique personalities, likes and dislikes, and care about others. They feel pain and despair, suffer loss – of family, friends, freedom, and ultimately their lives – all because we see them only as providers.
